One of the central tasks of comparative studies in transcultural psychiatry is to examine the various manifestations of so-called mental ill health in various cultures and the provisions therein for dealing with them. The cross-cultural investigation of mental health, therefore, raises a number of questions that have been dealt with only imperfectly by the studies done to date in cross-cultural work. (46 pp.)
