For men, the notion of masculinity, the cultural definition of manhood, serves as the primary building block of sexuality. It is through our understanding of masculinity that we construct a sexuality, and it is through our sexualities that we confirm the successful construction of our gender identity. Gender informs sexuality, sexuality confirms gender. Thus men have much at stake when they confront a sexual problem: They risk their self-image as men. (20 pp.)
