This chapter will emphasize the pedagogy of psychosomatic medicine, particularly through the activity which has, somewhat ambiguously, become known as “consultation-liaison psychiatry.” After presenting the need for such education, the aims and the objects of the effort will be discussed. Traditional teaching methods, their opportunities and apparent obstacles, will be contrasted with alternative educational approaches. The issues of evaluation of educational effectiveness, a frequently neglected subject, will be presented. (56 pp.)
